Jones' challenger Adame reports second quarter fundraising totals

WASHINGTON, DC (WECT) -

Federal documents show the Democratic challenger to incumbent Rep. Walter B. Jones (R-NC3) will likely be at a major disadvantage when it comes to campaign funds.

Marshall Adame, a first-time candidate from Jacksonville, filed his second-quarter report with the Federal Elections Commission. Adame's campaign reporting raising $2,425 in the period from April 1 to June 30, and enters the second-half of 2014 with $3,119.26 cash on hand.  The report lists $1,200 in itemized donations (contributions from individuals that give more than $200 during the calendar year) and $1,225 in unitemized donations. Jones', the ten-term incumbent from Farmville, has not yet filed its second-quarter FEC report (the deadline is July 15). In its last report, filed in April, the Walter Jones Committee reported having $78,776.20 cash on hand.
