One man has died, a driver has been ticketed, and a passenger ran from the scene of a deadly rollover crash in Anderson, according to police.
The single-vehicle crash happened Saturday evening on East River Street. Chief Jim Stewart said the SUV involved rolled three times.
LaThomas Turman, 23, a passenger in the back seat, died at the scene from blunt force trauma, Stewart said. Turman was not wearing a seatbelt.
Stewart said the driver of the vehicle, Nakisha Oliver, was ticketed for driving under suspension.
Another passenger in the car, Christopher McCarroll, ran off after the crash occurred, Stewart said.
A fourth passenger, a 16-year-old who was also in the back seat, was not hurt, Stewart said.
Stewart said the crash may have stemmed from a domestic dispute and remains under investigation.
McCarroll had not been located as of Sunday morning, Stewart said.
Police will consult with the solicitor's office to determine if any other charges will be filed.
