WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory is expected to make a statement about Tropical Storm Arthur during his visit to Wilmington Wednesday.

McCrory, joined by Department of Transportation Secretary Tony Tata and Emergency Management Director Mike Sprayberry, are scheduled to talk about the storm around noon.

Later in the day McCrory is expected to take part in a Wilmington Health Tour and Medical Roundtable.

    House Speaker Tim Moore said Wednesday he plans to convene a legislative hearing to investigate the discharge of the unregulated chemical GenX into the Cape Fear River.  “I’ll be announcing committee appointments in the coming days to convene investigative hearings on the GenX issue as soon as possible,”
