WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -
Two Wilmington residents are facing multiple heroin-related charges after they were arrested by New Hanover County officials following a three month investigation.
The investigation began after several citizen complaints
about heroin being sold from 1812 Orange Street. Detectives executed a search
warrant at the residence and found 267 wax bags of heroin, syringes, numerous
prescription medications, and a small amount of marijuana. Two juveniles were
also present during the raid.
Freddie Taylor III and Michelle Gilliam were arrested and
both charged with trafficking heroin, possession with intent to sell/deliver
heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and two
counts of child abuse.
Taylor's bond was set at $250,000 and Gilliam's was set at
$100,000. Social Services also opened an investigation involving the juveniles.
