To prepare for the big NC Fourth of July festival in Oak Island, the OI Parks and Recreation invites you and your family to the annual Beach Day on July 1, 2014.
The event starts at 9 a.m. and is free of charge.

9 a.m. -- Horseshoes - SE 46th Street and Dolphin Drive 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Inflatables - SE 46th and Dolphin Drive 10 a.m. - Bocce Ball and Cornhole - Cabana area 10 a.m. - Beach Volleyball Registration 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. -- OD Karaoke 12 p.m. -- Volleyball - Cabana Area (pre-registration required) 2 p.m. - sand creation contest - Cabana area 4 p.m. - Sk8 Competition - Oak Island Sk8 Park 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. - Shag contest registration -- SE 46th and Dolphin Drive 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. -- Concert by The Tim Clark Band - SE 46th and Dolphin 7 p.m. Shag contest begins 9 p.m. (weather permitting) - fireworks - Oak Island Pier
