Person robbed at gunpoint in Wilmington; suspects on the run

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

Officer responded to a call of an armed robbery in the 2300 block of Flint Drive around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, the victim told officers that he was walking home on Physicians Drive when he noticed a white Chevy Suburban following him.

The victim then said that the vehicle passed him and parked a short distance in front of him.

After parking, the passenger of the vehicle jumped out and pointed a gun at the victim. The suspect told the victim to drop everything and give them what he had.

The victim told the suspect that he only had a few dollars, at which point the suspect pushed the gun into the victim's chest.

The victim then threw his money to the ground. The suspect picked up the money and returned to the vehicle, then fled west on Wellington Avenue.

The suspect was described as a black male with medium skin tone, around 5'10" weighing between 150-155 pounds with a skinny build, and wearing a white t-shirt, jeans and a black hat. The suspect also had a small mustache and a small mole on the left side of his face under his nose.

The suspects took an unknown amount of money.

No injuries were reported.
