An arrest warrant recently made public alleges a former Fair Bluff police officer used a cell phone to take photos of a child in a bathroom.
Donald Brian Beauchaine 38, of Lake Waccamaw was arrested June 17 on ten felony counts of secret peeping.
The warrants claim Beauchaine took the photos for "the purpose of arousing and gratifying a sexual desire."
Lake Waccamaw Police Chief Scott Hyatt said the photographs were taken between April 1 through June 4, when he was reported missing.
Hyatt said Beauchaine left his home after someone found the hidden camera.
He was found the next night outside a restaurant in Leland.
Fair Bluff town council voted last week to fire Beauchaine, who was placed on indefinite suspension following the charges.
