Two girls were rescued from drowning at Topsail Beach after they swam out too far Thursday afternoon.
The incident happened just after noon at the northern part of the beach.
The girls reportedly swam out too far and couldn't make it back to shore. Local fire officials rescued the pair after deploying a boat.
The girls were uninjured in the incident.
