A Leland woman plans to save for her children's college education after winning the top prize of $150,000 playing the North Carolina Education Lottery's Green & Gold scratch-off game.
Amy Franke won the money after purchasing a $5 ticket from the Buy and Go off Ploof Road in Leland.
"I especially enjoy playing the scratch off games because you find out if you're a winner instantly," Franke said as she collected her winnings Friday afternoon. "I looked at my ticket every day after winning because I still couldn't believe it."
After taxes, Franke took home $103,801. She said she plans to use a portion of the money to take her family on a trip to Disney World.
