Victim fights back after 2 suspects rob him at knifepoint

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Officers responded to a call in reference to an armed robbery around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of South 16th Street.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, the 32-year-old victim was walking down 16th street smoking marijuana when he was approached by two suspects.

One of the suspects asked if he could smoke some of the marijuana and then pressed an object into the victim's stomach and said, "You know what it is."

The suspect went through the victim's pocket and grabbed some cash before the victim realized that the object was a knife and decided to fight back.

The suspects left the scene and ran towards the Houston Moore in the area.

The suspects were described as black males between the ages of 19 and 24, both wearing polo shirts. One suspect was wearing cargo shorts while the other was wearing skinny jeans.
