Non-violent first time offenders who have been clean for several years will have the opportunity to have their records cleared this week.
Superior Courts in New Hanover County are closed this week for conferences around the state.
According to District Attorney Ben David, district court will resume but there will be no grand jury cases and no felony pleas or trials this week.
Instead, the DA's office is hosting an expungement clinic on Tuesday, June 17 at 1 p.m., at the New Hanover County Library on Third Street in downtown Wilmington.
The clinic is designed to remove felonies from people's records who are eligible.
Tuesday's clinic is only open to people who pre-registered back in April. An informational session will be held on Wednesday, June 18 at 2 p.m. and will be open to the general public.
This is the second time that the DA's office is hosting this event; the first clinic was held back in April.
