Vandals smashed through the bathrooms at Mike Chappell Park in Carolina Beach early Thursday morning.
However, what is surprising is that people who work in the town's parks & recreations office say they've seen this type of thing before.
Officials have been dealing with people tagging and tearing up their facilities for weeks now.
Thursday's case involved a sledgehammer and a shovel taken from the park.
Officials believe the vandalism happened between 3 and 6 a.m.
Police reports estimate about $750 in damage was done, a cost officials say they are repeatedly for repairs.
"It's something we have to deal with," Asst. Town Manager Ed Parvin said. "We're going to have to put more resources into either repairing and hopefully doing some mitigation with some more monitoring of the facilities."
Officials expect to have the park's bathroom fixed in the next few days but, for now, it's closed to the public.
