WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northwestern Bladen county and eastern Robeson county through 7:15 p.m.
At 6:05 pm, doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located near Tobermory and moving southeast at 15 mph.
Locations in the warning include, but are not limited to Duart, Tolarsville, Howellsville, White Oak, Smiths, and Bladenboro. Dangerous thunderstorms may develop and affect other communities in the warned area.
Severe thunderstorm risks will primarily be large hail and/or wind gusts over 60 mph. Other risks may include deadly lightning and torrential downpours.
