COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

A third man was arrested in connection to a fatal mobile home fire in Aynor, SC in April.

According to the Horry County Police Department, Douglas Thomas, 21, was arrested in Columbus County Tuesday night.

Thomas is awaiting extradition into Horry County, where he will be charged with murder and arson in the first degree.

An arrest warrant issued by the Horry County Police Department said Charles Bryant Smith, 68, was beaten and restrained inside the mobile home as it was being set on fire.

Tommy Lee Benton, 20, of Chadbourn, and Mitchell Douglas Cheatham, 19, of Council, were arrested in May 2014 in connection with the robbery of a McDonald's in Tabor City. At that time, they were also charged for warrants in Horry County, SC in connection to the mobile home fire that killed Smith.
