Police recovered a stolen vehicle after pulling a suspect over for speeding shortly before midnight Monday.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers pulled over a blue Mercedes at the Martin Luther King Blvd. and Market St. intersection. When the vehicle stopped, the driver jumped out and fled on foot heading east on Eastwood Rd.
Officers set up a perimeter in the area along with State Highway Patrol to try and find the suspect that fled.
A passenger in the vehicle was briefly detained and released.
The suspect is described as a black male, six feet tall and wearing blue jeans and a long sleeve white shirt.
The blue Mercedes was picked up by the owner who had originally filed a complaint about the stolen vehicle on May 22.
