The North Carolina Division of Veterans Affairs (NCVA) has set up a Vet Tip Hotline for veterans to confidentially report misconduct that occurs with the VA  medical facilities.

Officials said the hotline was launched after the NCVA received specific allegations of misconduct at medical facilities in the state. The hotline is part of restructuring that is taking place with the NCVA that will also relocate NCVA offices within all 17 USVA medical facilities in North Carolina by 2016. Officials say the restructuring will help with advocacy, provide benefit services to veterans, and will assist with the reporting of allegation received through the Vet Tip Hotline.

NCVA Director Ilario Pantano spoke about the restructuring taking place within the NCVA, "Hundreds of thousands of veterans have received care from dedicated USVA employees at medical facilities in North Carolina. Our goal, first and foremost, is to care for our North Carolina veterans, and as their advocate, I want to help the USVA get back on track."

The hotline is available for veterans and federal employees to use. The number is (844)-NC4-VETS (844)-624-8387 or VetTips@DOA.NC.GOV.
