ROCK COUNTY, WI (ROCK COUNTY CORONER'S OFFICE/CNN) – The Smithsonian Museum's lab in Washington, DC is working with police in Wisconsin to help solve a 19-year-old cold case.

Skeletal remains of a teenage boy found in a wooded area in Bradford, WI in 1995 are being studied to determine where the teen grew up.

Scientists match the chemical signature of an area's drinking water with deposits left in the bones.

Police are hoping the DNA process, along with facial sketches, will help them find someone who recognizes the teen.

Results of the test could be back by the end of the summer.

The Smithsonian is donating its services and facilities for the testing.
