Now the adult Shakespeare actors are getting ready to open their show, Comedy of Errors.
The farcical play tells the tale of two sets of identical twins who were accidentally separated at birth. By some twist of fate, they were even named the same.
Of course, comedy ensues when they eventually enter each other's worlds. The mistaken identities lead to wrongful beatings, a near-seduction, an arrest and false accusations of infidelity, theft, madness, and even demonic possession.
"One thing I like about Shakespeare is that it still resonates now the same as it was 400 years ago," said director Robb Mann. "So a lot of times I'll put anachronistic elements in it like costuming is fairly traditional except we're wearing modern shoes and hats. There's little odds and ends that kind of take it out of one particular place, so it can be anywhere or any when."
And the show makes for a great night of free entertainment.
"You can come outdoors, you can bring your picnic stuff, you sit back, you enjoy," said Mann. "It's a little more casual than your typical theater. It's fun and we're keeping the show to two hours, so you're in, you're out. What else are you going to do on a weekend night in the summer?"
