WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Nearly 800 women crowded the downtown Wilmington street Thursday night to run in the 6th annual Wilma Dash 5K run and walk.

The women only race was held for woman of all abilities. The race course snaked through historic downtown and culminated with the Wilma Nights Health Fest.

This was the first year that the race also partnered with One Step Beyond! by collecting new and gently used athletic shoes and socks to distribute to kids in need across Brunswick County.

The race started at 6 p.m. and Wilmington's own Erin Hogston won the event in a time of 19:19. Full results can be found here: http://bit.ly/1hhVBo7
