Man facing drug charges after running from police during traffic stop

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

A Wilmington man is facing drug charges after running from police during a traffic stop Wednesday night.

Wilmington Police were called to Long Leaf Park to investigate complaints of criminal activity going on. Police stopped a vehicle in the 4600 block of C B Road. The driver didn't have a license and after receiving information about a suspected vehicle, police asked both of the passengers to get out the car.

The passenger, 46-year-old George Fenderson, ran but was quickly captured. Police found 16 bindles of heroin and a small amount of crack cocaine on Fenderson. He was charged with possession with intent to sell and deli ever heroin and possession of cocaine. 

The driver, 24-year-old Markeith Minor, was charged with driving with a revoked license.
