WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -
Planning staffers from the City of Wilmington
held a meeting for residents to check out new plans other taxpayers had for the city.
Brian Chambers, Associate Planner with the City of Wilmington, said the meeting was designed to be a recap of the several neighborhood planning meetings hosted by the city around Wilmington.
"We wanted to summarize the neighborhood outreach
effort that we had and give people the big ideas that came out of that
process," said Chambers.
Chambers said that people wanted to keep a lot of outdoor
neighborhood features sidewalks and bike paths. He said one of the key changes residents
consistently recommended was adjusting traffic signals.
Chambers said the ultimate goal is to come up with new policies to be adopted and approved by the city's elected leaders.
