The North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission patrolled Wrightsville Beach to enforce water violations during Memorial Day weekend.
According to officials, they have cracked down on boating drivers who are drinking while driving. The NC Wildlife Resources Commission has started a campaign, "On the road, on the water, don't drink and drive."
Officials are also stopping boaters for boating registration. It must be properly displayed and visible on the boat. Individuals participating in water sports must be wearing the appropriate life vests.
"We want you to have a great weekend but most importantly we want you to be safe," Captain Todd Radabaugh said of the NC Wildlife Resource Commission.
The NC Wildlife Resource Commission has listed their updated rules and regulations on their website.
