Video posted by a Piedmont man has gone viral in the cycling world after he was arrested on a reckless endangerment charge.
The video shows a man, identified as Keith Maddox, driving along a two-lane road, complaining about cyclists who he says make it hard for him to get to work. He also talks about how much he hates the bike riders and appears to get close to one before driving away.
Calhoun County sheriff's Chief Deputy Matthew Wade said Maddox on Thursday was charged with reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor.
Bicyclists have complained about the videos, which they say depicts behavior that could endanger cyclists.
In a brief phone interview Thursday before his arrest, Maddox told The Anniston Star that he's been advised by an attorney not to speak about the matter.
A cycling advocacy group recently ranked Alabama last in bicycle friendliness.
