A Boat capsized after running aground Wednesday afternoon.
The boat was traveling in the Masonboro Inlet when it hit a sandbar, and three people were thrown into the water as a result of the impact according to John Hall, Civilian Search and Rescue Controller with the US Coast Guard.
Hall said a good Samaritan stopped and picked up the people and transported them to Wrightsville Beach. One of the boaters had a laceration to their head, but refused EMS.
Tow Boat and Wrightsville Beach Ocean Rescue responded to the accident, but according to Hall, the owner of the boat said they will remove the capsized boat from the water themselves.
