Two robbery incidents on Market Street early Tuesday


Two suspects reportedly attempted to rob two separate businesses in Wilmington early Tuesday morning.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, two suspects, one male and one female, attempted to rob the Lucky Stop Food Mart on Market Street around 2:30 a.m., then drove down the road to the Kangaroo Express and robbed that business several minutes later.

Police say that the female suspect drove the male suspect to both locations, and the male would get out and enter the businesses.

According to the WPD, the female suspect is described as white and approximately 30-years-old. The male suspect is described as white, approximately 20-years-old, and wearing dark clothes and a long sleeve shirt. The male suspect had a shirt wrapped around his head and right hand at the time of the incidents.

Nothing was reportedly taken from the Lucky Stop Food Mart; however the suspects were able to get an undisclosed amount of money from the Kangaroo Express.

Wilmington Police are searching for a four-door gray Saturn with a male and female in reference to the robbery.

There are no reports of any injuries.
