WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -
The New Hanover High School Senior who was accepted into 7 ivy league schools spent the morning at his alma mater Monday.
Patrick Peoples spoke to Forest Hills Elementary School students about perseverance. He encouraged the students to excel in all that they do.
Peoples told the students that even when they feel like giving up, that they should continue to focus on their schoolwork.
"It's so important, I'm going to be leaving in a few months and I really feel that I need to complete the journey and come back and sort of get a great sendoff and talk to all of the teachers who impacted my life so much and to motivate the students in whatever way I could," Peoples said.
A few weeks ago Peoples announced live on WECT that he will be attending Yale University in the fall to study politics and economics.
