CHERRY POINT, NC (WECT) – Cherry Point and Havelock firefighters responded to a fire alarm in a building at the Marine Corps Air Station Monday morning.
According to 1st Lt. Hector Alejandro with the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, the fire was reported in a building located on the air station flight line at 6:26 a.m., and was put out by firefighters by 6:40 a.m.
There were no reports of any injuries.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are under investigation.
The building that reportedly contained the fire is used by Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14, which provides aviation logistics support to multiple 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing squadrons based at Cherry Point.
