Volunteers were decorating a blast from the past on Thursday. It was a gingerbread playhouse.
It may be an old fashioned toy, but this one is brand new. It's even equipped with windows and lights. Kids and adults helped put on the final coat of paint at the Fort Fisher Recreation Center.
It will be raffled off, and some lucky little ones will have a new hide-away. All proceeds go The Parenting Place of the Exchange Clubs to help prevent child abuse.
High Tide Enterprises donated the materials and helped build the playhouse.
The finished product will be on display at Westfield Shoppingtown until mid-December. You can buy a raffle ticket for $5.00 a piece at the Chic-Fil-A at Westfield and at Learning Express on Military Cutoff.
