Thousands are expected to attend the Greek Festival at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Wilmington this weekend.
The festival kicked off Friday evening and is already drawing crowds to partake in the festivities.
Basile Katsikis, public relations specialist for the festival, said the event is expected bring in 20,000 people throughout the weekend. Katsikis explained that the festival is designed to share Greek food, faith and culture with the general public.
The festival runs Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
This year the festival's charitable partner is the Good Shepherd Center. The center will receive any food that is leftover after the festival.
