News reporting is an endeavor that not only introduces you to new people, but exciting new places as well. So with that, I will take the wonderful experiences made in North Carolina with me as I move on to my next destination- the purple Mountain majesties of the West.
In April 2006 I accepted a reporting job for KSL-TV, the NBC affiliate in Salt Lake City , Utah . It is far away from my Southern roots, but I will not be alone. I'm excited to be working alongside my sister whom I can now call a roommate and colleague!
Yes, I will be leaving behind sweet tea and grits, but the trade off is hot chocolate and something they call Utah "fry sauce." I'll report back on that.
It's not totally unfamiliar territory. A college internship in Salt Lake City introduced me to many wonderful things about the West- and in my off time I am looking forward to everything from hiking and skiing the Wasatch Mountains to exploring the deserts of Southern Utah .
Wilmington will always be a part of me- my first shot at reporting out of college! And I will remember fondly the wonderful people I worked with at WECT- and the stories through which I was fortunate to get to know many of you- Wilmington will always be a sweet spot for me and is now at the top of my vacation destination list.
You can keep up with me at ksl.com. If you find yourself in Utah wake up early and tune in to "Eyewitness News Today" on Channel 5.
