Politicians, Sports Figures and Business Leaders Accept Honorary Board Positions with Fairfax 2015 in Support of World Police & Fire Games
FAIRFAX, Va., May 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The World Police and Fire Games, Fairfax 2015 (www.fairfax2015.com), coming to the National Capital Region next June, has formed an honorary board of state political leaders, sports stars and the business community. Governor Terry McAuliffe will serve as chairman. He will address the importance of Virginia winning this bid and hosting the Olympic-style Games at an address on Wednesday, May 21 in Vienna.
"Fairfax 2015 will support the Commonwealth's tourism industry and generate unique economic development opportunities," said Jim Corcoran, President and CEO of the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce. "Fairfax County, the Commonwealth of Virginia and the National Capital Region is the perfect host to welcome 12,000 athletes and our business community welcomes this competition."
Kevin Reynolds, President of Cardinal Bank, is chairman of the board of directors for Fairfax 2015. "I am so grateful to the Governor for taking-on this leadership role," said Reynolds.
