WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Wilmington Police arrested a man Thursday morning wanted for using a tree limb to assault and rob a man at Third and Orange Streets.

According to the WPD, officers received a call from a 911 operator May 14 who said a witness watched a male suspect repeatedly hit another man with an Oak tree limb on Orange Street.

Officers responded and found the victim standing at a bus stop on Second and Princess Streets with blood on both of his hands and his head. The victim's knuckles were also scraped.

After being treated by EMS, the victim told police that he felt like he knew the suspect, but was unable to provide much information because he was reportedly intoxicated at the time.

The suspect was able to take $50 from the victim.

The WPD gathered more information following the incident and took out warrants for 33-year-old Uriel Anderson.

Officers arrested Anderson and charged him with robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
