A man accused of pulling a knife and trying to run from police was arrested in connection to several drug-related charges, among others. A man accused of pulling a knife and trying to run from police was arrested in connection to several drug-related charges, among others.
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

A man accused of pulling a knife and trying to run from police was arrested in connection to several drug-related charges, among others.

According to police, sheriff's deputies with the downtown unit saw James Bosworth in front of a restaurant with his fist raised to instigate a fight. The man walked away when deputies approached.

Witnesses in the area told authorities the man pulled a knife on them.

Deputies tried to approach Bosworth while he was in his car, but the man drove off heading north on Front Street. Bosworth was driving so fast officers were unable to catch up with him until he crashed at 20th and Princess Streets and tried to run.

Bosworth was charged for:

  • being intoxicated and disruptive
  • hindering and delay
  • DWI
  • careless and reckless driving
  • possession of a schedule 4 drug
  • possession of a schedule 2 drug
  • possession of drug paraphernalia
