First Alert Forecast: highest rain chances in weeks arrive soon

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A low pressure system will ample moisture supplies will move through the region Thursday into Friday. With it: the best opportunity for rain thus far in May. Details...

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Quiet weather hangs on... Expect partly cloudy skies, humid south breezes, and lows mainly in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Chance of a shower: near 10%.

THURSDAY: Expect increasing clouds. The chance of a shower or storm will grow to 50%. Temperatures will swell to the 80s and south or southeast breezes may occasionally gust over 20mph.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Shower and storm chances will peak near 90%. Some storms may produce strong winds and / or poor-drainage flooding. Stay weather-aware! Lows: mainly upper 60s.

FRIDAY: Shower and storm chances will remain high for the morning but decrease to near 0% late in the day. Also expect variable clouds and highs mainly in the upper 70s and lower 80s.

WEEKEND: Expect partly cloudy skies, slim shower chances, comfortable humidity levels, daytime highs in the 70s to possibly near 80, and nighttime lows mainly in the 50s. Enjoy!
