Michael Edward Sutton, 50, was killed in a wreck Saturday around 9 p.m. on Rough and Ready Road near Hwy. 701, just south of Whiteville, Assistant Coroner William Hannah said. A Whiteville man died in an accident over the weekend in Columbus County.

Michael Edward Sutton, 50, was killed in a wreck Saturday around 9 p.m. on Rough and Ready Road near Hwy. 701, just south of Whiteville, Assistant Coroner William Hannah said.

The pick-up truck Sutton was driving was the only vehicle involved.

We are awaiting additional information from the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
