Neighbors call for change after gunfire hits home

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Three homes were shot on Friday evening after a man was shot in the leg in Vista Village.

Neighbors on Castle and 19th Streets said their block is often used as a getaway street for criminals because of the lack of speed bumps.

After a bullet flew through three walls inside the Davis home on Friday, Joselia Davis and her neighbors are asking for speed bumps to be put on their street.

"They were speeding real fast and we think if we had speed bumps it would slow them down," said Davis.

She's concerned for her neighbors and her mother, who resides in the home that was shot. Her neighbors are asking the City of Wilmington for high speed bumps.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, they are still looking for a suspect.
