NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

As emergency crews responded to one accident, fire crews found themselves in another at the intersection of Carolina Beach Road and Horn Road Saturday.

According to New Hanover County Dispatch, there was a two car accident in front of the Monkey Junction Pit Stop around 2:25 p.m.

Officials said one driver was trying to make a left-hand turn onto Horn Road when another car collided into it. The car attempting to make the turn was cited with failure to yield right of way. One victim was taken to the hospital and she is expected to be okay.

Officials said as New Hanover County Fire Services, Highway Patrol and EMS responded to that accident, a car trying to pass the fire truck ended up hitting it.

Officials said the driver of the car is being charged with failure to reduce speed. Dispatch said the second accident happened around 2:30 p.m.

Officials on the scene said no one was hurt in either accident.
