First Alert Forecast: storm risk gone, shower risk decreasing, pleasant weekend on-track

Posted: Updated:

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A very slight risk of showers will remain through early Saturday - the "last gasp" of the storm system which has brought several days of unsettled weather to the region. A high pressure system will bring tranquil weather and seasonable temperatures for most of the rest of the forecast period. Details...

WEEKEND: Overall, expect nice conditions for the first weekend of May! Outside of a shot at a few leftover showers Saturday morning, expect a day very well-suited for outdoor activities with variable clouds, light breezes, and highs mainly in the mid to upper 70s. And for Sunday, enjoy sunshine and highs mainly in the lower 80s!

A PEEK INTO NEXT WEEK: A warm high pressure system will control our weather most of the time. With it, expect clear to partly cloudy skies and low rain chances. Daily highs will likely grow from the 70s and lower 80s early in the week to deeper into the 80s later in the week, and nighttime lows will mainly be in the seasonable 50s and 60s.
