New commerce platform helps Kardashian-owned boutique manage inventory of the hottest new fashions, prepare for growth
MONTREAL, May 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- LightSpeed, the commerce platform for serious retailers, today announced that DASH, the Kardashian-owned fashion boutique, has selected LightSpeed Cloud to help them manage its expanding chain of stores. LightSpeed helps DASH more quickly and easily track clothes and accessories that fly off the shelves so that best-selling items can be reordered ahead of demand. With LightSpeed's inventory management and POS tools at their fingertips, sales associates - or "DASH Dolls" - can make sure they get the most current fashions and Kardashian-inspired trends to their shoppers, right when they want them.
More than 8,000 shoppers visit DASH's stores in Los Angeles, Miami and New York City each week in search of the hottest trends from brands including Alice + Olivia, Torn by Ronny Kobo and RVN. Before LightSpeed, associates had to manually track inventory and sales, spending roughly eight hours a week on administrative tasks such as reporting daily sales to managers, tracking lost products and determining which items sell best and when to reorder.
LightSpeed now enables DASH's store managers to have a real-time view of stock levels and sales trends across all of their stores so they can pull merchandise from other locations or re-order before top selling items go out of stock. DASH can now be more proactive in forecasting what new products and brands to purchase based on sales trends, truly keeping up with customer demand. DASH Dolls can also use LightSpeed to create a tailored experience for shoppers, providing recommendations on apparel and accessories based on personal preferences, and letting them know what's in stock with the click of a button - no more having to check in the back.
"Having LightSpeed has made it much easier to view our current inventory and our top sellers, allowing us to provide our clients with what they want, when they want it," said Dakota DiSanto, Director of Retail at DASH. "Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe care a lot about what is put into the boutiques and want to find the most fashion-forward brands and styles for our clients. It's our job as DASH Dolls to translate that to our clients' needs and desires."
Adding to its three locations, DASH plans to expand the brand's physical and online presence. Because LightSpeed is cloud-based, DASH can easily extend its existing system to support each new location, both brick-and-mortar and online.
"As retailers grow, adding new locations and opening up online storefronts, it's important that their retail commerce platforms can grow with them. Adding new channels doesn't have to mean hours of manual reporting, disorganized stock and mounting stress," said Dax Dasilva, founder and CEO of LightSpeed. "DASH is the perfect example of a fast-growing retailer whose success depends on staying ahead of the trends and ensuring stock levels can put them in the hands of shoppers. As DASH expands, LightSpeed will grow with it, keeping the experience consistent no matter where you shop."
LightSpeed provides serious retailers the simplest way to build, manage and grow their business and create a better shopping experience. More than 19,000 stores processing over $6 billion in transactions annually use LightSpeed's retail commerce platform to unify inventory, customer preferences, sales and analytics, in-store and online. Founded in 2005 with offices in Montreal, New York City, Olympia, WA, Ottawa, Santa Cruz and Sydney, LightSpeed is backed by Accel Partners and iNovia Capital.
DASH is a young woman's contemporary boutique that carries some of the most fashion-forward brands from all over the world. Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe have owned and operated DASH since 2007. With successful locations in Los Angeles, Miami Beach, and NYC, they plan to open more stores and launch an e-commerce site in the near future.
