Hanover students briefly locked down during police investigation

HANOVER, VA (WWBT) -

Students at five Hanover schools were forced to shelter in place Tuesday while authorities investigated a criminal incident nearby.

Kersey Creek Elementary, the Hanover Center for Trades and Technology, the Georgetown School, Hanover High School and Oak Knoll Middle School were all affected by the incident around noon Tuesday.

No one was allowed in or out until the situation was safe. The schools have since resumed to normal operations.
