Posted: Updated:

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - A woman and a young boy were airlifted to Memphis hospitals following a house fire Tuesday morning, according to Paragould Fire Chief Kevin Lang.

Lang said a home was destroyed on Country Club Road at around 8:30 a.m., located next to "A Touch of Mom" daycare. Lang said a young boy, either two or three years old, was airlifted to LeBonheur Children's Hospital. A woman was airlifted to The Med. Lang said he does not know about the extent of their injuries.

The daycare sustained minor damage and the children inside the daycare were evacuated as a precaution.

Lang said the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it appears the fire started in the kitchen, which was located in the middle of the home.
