WILMINGON, NC (WECT) – Officers responded to calls in reference to an individual speeding in a neighborhood just after midnight.
According to the WPD, the individual had been speeding through a neighborhood off of Fairview Dr. and Jonathan Court throughout the day.
Police sent a patrol car to the area and within five minutes of being on scene a car sped past the officer. The officer attempted to stop the suspect but the suspect kept going.
When the suspect did stop he jumped from his car and ran into the woods.
Officers arrested Christopher Wojnarowski for Careless and Reckless Driving, Resisting Arrest, No Driver's License, and Speeding.
