TABOR CITY, NC (WECT) – Tabor City police are looking for two men who held up a McDonald's early Monday morning, armed with guns and a sledgehammer.

The store was closed, but employees were still inside when the suspects approached just before 12:30 a.m.

One of the men threatened to use the sledgehammer to bust a window if a worker didn't open the door, said Tabor City Police Capt. Russell Conway.

Once inside the restaurant, the suspects forced employees into a walk-in cooler and made the manger open the safe.

Police won't say how much money the men took.

The suspects also stole one of the employee's cars. Later in the morning, the car was found burned near Chadbourn.

Police haven't made any arrests.
