First Alert Weather: Sunday will be perfect, stormy pattern sets up for new week

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Sunday will be perfect again for outdoor activities.  Look for lots of sun and very warm temperatures. As we head into the new work week scattered showers and thunderstorms will become more likely with a slow moving system.  Severe weather will also be possible during this time frame.

SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY: Saturday night will be clear and cool with lows in the mid 50's.  Sunday will be perfect again with sunny skies and highs in the low 80's.  Wear sunscreen for all outdoor activities!

MONDAY: A transition day as clouds begin to increase in advance of a slow moving and potent system.  Skies will be partly cloudy and a weak front may shave a degree or two off of Sunday's high.  Late in the day into Monday evening we could see a spotty or isolated shower.  Highs Monday will be near 80 and lows in the mid 60's.

TUESDAY TO THURSDAY: A slow moving low with a trailing cold front will move from the Midwest to the Great Lakes.  During this time SE NC will be in the warm sector of this approaching system.  From time to time disturbances will rotate into the area setting off rounds of scattered showers and thunderstorms.  During the afternoon and evening with peak heating some storms could become strong or severe.  Highs will be in the low 80's and lows will be in the 60's.
