WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A new emergency medical center is coming to northern New Hanover County.
A ground breaking ceremony took place for the NHRMC Emergency Department North, Tuesday. Construction is expected to be completed in the spring of 2015. The cost of the new building is estimated at $15.1 million.
New Hanover Regional Medical Center officials said the new department will offer additional access and convenience to those needing emergency care in northern New Hanover County. The NHRMC Health & Diagnostic Services in Porter Neck will relocate to the new building.
The new facility will be built off of Scotts Hill Medical Drive, next to NHRMC Atlantic SurgiCenter.
