DELCO, NC (WECT) – An autopsy of a man who was fatally shot Monday night in Delco confirms the cause of death was from a single gunshot wound.

According to the Columbus County Sheriff's Office, Livis Charles Owens Jr., 46, was shot around 11:45 p.m. The autopsy report says the bullet entered the area of the right shoulder and exited the area of the left shoulder.

Deputies had responded to the same area about an hour earlier to reports of multiple shots fired, but there were no injuries at that time.

Investigators have conducted a walk-thru of the crime scene with prosecutors and are expected to present the case for review next week.

According to the sheriff's office, any decisions on charges will be made at that time.
