Garner police obtained a warrant for the arrest of the father of a 10-month-old child who has been missing since Saturday morning.
An Amber Alert was issued for 10-month-old Tamiyah Elssy Bryant after police said she was taken by her father around 8:15 a.m. on Saturday.
Police said Rodney Bryant, 26, was taking his girlfriend, Elssy Olivares, to work at an IHOP in Garner; but when she attempted to get out of the car, Bryant forcefully held her in the car and eventually made her get out on Interstate 40 in Durham.
Police said he continued driving with the child in the car. The vehicle was last seen driving on I-40 West near N.C. 147 in Durham, possibly heading to Atlanta, authorities said.
The vehicle is described as a white 2002 Suzuki XL7 with Washington state license plate ACK-7454 and a missing door handle on the driver's side.
Durham police said Rodney Bryant has made threats to kill himself and the child.
As a result of the investigation, Garner police obtained a warrant for Rodney Bryant's arrest, charging him with first-degree kidnapping, assault on a female and communicating threats.
Rodney Bryant is described as a light-skinned black male with dark hair, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 220 pounds. Bryant was last seen wearing an orange coat and camouflage pants.
Police said Bryant also has tattoos of praying hands and "M.O.B" on his neck. He also has "Mactown" tattooed on his hands.
Tamiyah Elssy Bryant is described as multiracial.
