COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

A man who lost his leg in a vehicle accident last week got a special visit Wednesday.

Gamecocks quarterback Dylan Thompson stopped by Palmetto Health Richland to visit Jeremy Brunson.

Brunson lost his leg below the knee in an accident on Highway 378 in Sumter Thursday.

Brunson's mom told WIS Friday she's grateful for a soldier stationed at Shaw Air Force base for saving her son's life.

We're told Brunson has been in good spirits since the accident.
