KURE BEACH, NC (WECT) - The Kure Beach Town Council has settled an ongoing lawsuit filed against it by former Ocean Front Park contractor, Integrity Builders, LLC.

The contractor sued the Town of Kure Beach in March of 2012 after being terminated from the project.

Integrity Builders alleged various breaches in contract and warranties by the town council led to being wrongfully terminated from the project. The council said certain claims and disputes arose between the town and Integrity Builders over the quality of work being performed.

The town council filed a countersuit against Integrity Builders and the two parties eventually ended up in mediation.

The town council agreed to pay Integrity Builders $160,000 and as part of the settlement, no party had to admit wrongdoing or liability.

The council spent nearly $300,000 in fees during the legal battle.
