Alabama company hired for retail study of Brunswick Co.

The group will identify the top five areas for potential retail growth in the county. The group will identify the top five areas for potential retail growth in the county.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The Brunswick County Economic Develop Commission selected Retail Strategies out of Birmingham, Alabama to undertake a retail study.

Retail Strategies is a company focused on providing recommendations to communities for retail development and redevelopment.

The scope of the work includes a list of the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats for retail growth in the county.

The group will also identify the top five areas for potential retail growth in the county.

Finally, after reviewing the data, they will recommend recognized retailers across the country to pursue in the five trade areas.

To fund the study, the Brunswick County EDC will pay the group $26,000 from the foundation budget, not tax payer money.

    Surveillance cameras captured someone opening fire at a gas station in Jasper. Police are looking for one of the people they said opened fire on Friday night, while the other is still in a hospital.
